Cancer Survivor Testimonials
at Oasis of Hope Hospital

At Oasis of Hope Hospital, we believe one of the best ways to learn about our treatments, and what truly makes our cancer care different, is to listen to the experiences of our patients.

In this section, you’ll find personal stories from many people who have received alternative cancer treatments at the Oasis of Hope Hospital.

Breast Cancer Survivors

All treatments at Oasis of Hope are administered within the context of a complex and sophisticated Contreras Alternative Cancer Treatment (C-ACT), proven to work in multiple complementary ways to boost the sensitivity of tumor cells to cytotoxic destruction while minimizing damage to normal tissue.

Oasis of Hope’s philosophy is not just to treat the cancer but to also treat the person – the psychological and spiritual needs of the patient are fundamental and as worthy of attention as the physical needs.

Catherine Shortridge

I found out that I had lung cancer that had gone to spying my brain my bone and my hip and it was pretty bad.

Looking all over the world I found out Oasis of Hope was where I felt they had the best treatment for me, of course it’s a little scary don’t know anybody but it doesn’t take long because you know patients that are coming here we’re all in the same boat we all feel the same way and we make friend really quickly and I think we make lifelong friend there’s no one that understands you like another patient.

Donald Factor

At Oasis of Hope I was a part of the team helping to get me better as opposed to an object with a bunch of mechanics working on it. You feel a sense of calm and family, everybody is there to help you along the way.

More than 100,000 patients have been treated here, clinical trials have shown that patients here have up to a 50 percent greater chance of survival compared to those with the same type of cancer elsewhere, whatever the outcome one thing always survives in the hearts of everyone here, hope!

Lorraine Weaver

In 2003 I got lung cancer and had that operated on, and the next year I had a cat scan and a PET scan and the cancer came back by my esophagus and I asked them what are you going to do about it and she said they are going to wait for it to grow and we are going to do chemo radiation, and I said I don’t think so and I walked out.

I call my sister and she had done research and she said you go to Oasis of Hope, so we came down, we we’re here 17 days my husband was here with me, we had a beautiful room and nurses and doctors and everybody were wonderful. And so now it’s been seven years and I was cured so I thanked God every day, and don’t ever give up hope!

Ricky Deniz

Ricky was diagnosed with 5 tumors in his liver. When he was looking for treatments options, a friend recommended Oasis of Hope. Realizing he had doubts, his friends from church, raised money to help pay for his treatment with us. When he saw the faith they had, he was truly convinced Oasis of Hope was the place.

He shares: “When I walked in, I felt at home…the feeling is unique, you feel like family because they treat you like family. My room had two beds, one for me and one for my wife”. After my treatment I had 1 tumor left and it shrunk to half the size it was, as my liver was starting to regenerate, I had a new liver.

I feel thankful with everybody here.

Bruce Northey

Bruce was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1996 and had surgery. Sadly two years, it came back. He looked for treatments options and found Oasis of Hope. He shares with us:

“For me is not remission, is a cure. I came back a year later, not to a hospital but to a place where I can share a story with really good friends. Because they treat you like family, they treat you like a real person, with respect and love. That is the difference with Oasis of Hope”.
